Baldwin Supply Legends: Shelly Vandyke

Continuing our Baldwin Supply Legends series is with someone who has been with Baldwin Supply for over 30 years, Shelly Vandyke.

Shelly started her career with Baldwin over 30 years ago when her old roommate, who worked at Baldwin, introduced her to the company and then soon set up an interview. She was initially hired to help with a variety of jobs, mainly, expediting orders for our Inside Sales team. Eventually, she moved to Customer Service full-time and assisted in other areas as needed. A few years ago, Shelly moved to Purchasing, and it's where she's at today.

When asked about what she enjoys the most about working at Baldwin Supply, Shelly said, “I love the people. Since day one I had a lot of very knowledgeable people around to help me learn and grow with the company. At the same time, it is a fun and relaxed environment.”
Shelly also enjoys being able to work with customers and suppliers, “I love working with the customers & suppliers, you get to know them on a personal level which makes the work day so much nicer! I have formed a lot of friendships over the years and love being in this industry."

ClothingShelly has witnessed a lot of change throughout the industry and at Baldwin Supply. She started when Baldwin only had one branch location, one order entry person, no email, and a lot of open catalogs. “Over the years I've seen many changes with our company, the industry, and the world, but Baldwin continues to invest and grow. The future can only get better, and hopefully, we will enjoy the ride!”
