Eligibility
New employees can join the benefits plan on the first of the month following the date of hire. Retirement benefits start after three months. You may elect certain coverage options for eligible dependents. If you work 30 or more hours per week, we offer the following comprehensive benefits.

Medical and Dental Insurance
Baldwin Supply offers medical plan options through BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota. (BCBS of MN). There is an option to choose between two qualified High Deductible Health Plans (HDPD), which allow you to open a Health Saving Account (HSA). For both plans, all services excluding preventative care must first go toward satisfying a deductible before the plan starts to pay for a portion of the claims. Pharmacy benefits are offered through Prime Therapeutics.

Baldwin Supply partners with BlueCross Blue Shield of Minnesota for its dental plan. The plan provides coverage for exams, x-rays, cleanings, fillings, and major dental work such as crowns and bridges.


Health Savings Accounts

If you enroll in either BlueCross BlueShield plan sponsored by Baldwin Supply, you can also enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA) through Health Equity. HSAs are tax-advantaged savings accounts that accompany high deductible health plans. In addition, if you participate in Wellness Challenges throughout the year, Baldwin Supply will make contributions into your HSA.

Flexible Spending Accounts
Baldwin Supply offers the option for you to enroll in various FSAs for health care, dental and vision expenses, and dependent care. FSAs allow you to set aside money tax-free and can be used for qualified expenses.

Vision Insurance
Baldwin Supply offers vision insurance through EyeMed. The plan has a generous frame allowance. Of note, you have one annual eye exam with BlueCross Blue Shield medical insurance that you and your dependents can use.

Disability Insurance
If you find yourself seriously ill or injured and unable to work for a long period of time, Baldwin Supply provides full time employees with a short-term disability income benefit and pays the full cost of this coverage. Employees have the option to purchase a long-term disability income benefit.

Life and AD&D (Accidental Death & Dismemberment) Insurance
Baldwin Supply provides Life and AD&D Insurance benefits through Sun Life at no cost to you. The coverage is set at $20,000.
Employees can elect additional Life and AD&D insurance for themselves. If you elect coverage for yourself, you are also eligible to elect coverage for your spouse and/or children.

Retirement Plan
Baldwin Supply offers a 401K retirement savings plan that is administered by American Funds. The 401K plan is for all employees 21 years and older (excluding hourly Union employees) and are eligible the first day of the month following three (3) months of continuous service of 500 or more hours.
Baldwin Supply currently matches 50% of employee contributions on the first 3% of your deferral. Matching funds become 20% vested after one year and fully vested after five years. The employer match is subject to change at any time.

Vacation Time
New employees begin to accrue vacation at 80 hours (10 days) per year for their first three years of employment followed by:
  • 104 hours (13 days) per year after three years of service.
  • 144 hours (18 days) per year after five years of service.

Holidays

New employees enjoy 8 paid holidays upon hire: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and one company designated holiday.

Employee Assistance Plan
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to you and your family during those times in life when you might need help coping or figuring out what to do.

Legal and Identity Protection
Pre-paid legal services and identity theft protection are provided by LegalShield. The legal plan covers the employee, spouse and dependent children. This is a voluntary benefit.

Other Voluntary Benefits
Baldwin Supply offers eligible employees with the opportunity to participate in a variety of voluntary benefits including Accidental Injury Insurance and Critical Illness Insurance through Sun Life. The voluntary benefits are designed to help offset the cost of medical care, should you need it.
