Our Twin Cities HQ Move is Complete!

To New Beginnings!

We are thrilled to announce that the much-anticipated move of Baldwin Supply’s headquarters to Plymouth, MN has been successfully completed! This marks a momentous occasion for our organization, and we are excited to share this update with our partners!

The seamless transition to our new location is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaborative spirit of the Baldwin Team. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all employees, suppliers, and customers for their patience and commitment during this period of change. Stay tuned for information about opportunities for you to visit us, including open houses, training opportunities, and workshops. In this article, however, we would like to take a moment to appreciate the 58-year run we've had at our 601 address in Downtown Minneapolis. We've embraced our history by bringing parts with us to Plymouth, including wall art, signage, and our 601 room!

If these walls could talk, they would tell stories of a city growing around it, Iconic Pop concerts, World Series wins, Super Bowls, and NCAA Final Fours.

601 11th Av witnessed the building (and eventual falling) of the Metrodome. Baldwin employees had a first-hand view of the construction. At a cost of $68 million, the stadium officially opened its doors in 1982, becoming the home for various teams, including the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. The Metrodome is the only venue to have hosted an MLB All-Star Game (1985), a Super Bowl (1992), an NCAA Final Four (1992 & 2001), and a World Series (1987 & 1991).

The Metrodome gained widespread recognition during the unforgettable 1987 World Series, where the Minnesota Twins secured their first championship in a thrilling seven-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Twins followed up four years later with another World Series Title, beating the Braves in four games!

In 1992 the Metrodome hosted Super Bowl XXVI, a game between the Washington Redskins and the Buffalo Bills. Washington coached by Joe Gibbs came out on top 37-24. The Metrodome also served as an incredible concert venue. The Baldwin walls were shaken by bands like the Rolling Stones, U2, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel and Elton John, all who played at the Metrodome.

Our view of the construction of US Bank Stadium was one of a kind. A state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue in Minneapolis was completed in 2016 at a cost of approximately $1.1 billion. Besides serving as the new home for the Minnesota Vikings, the stadium quickly became a focal point for a variety of events.

The stadium was designed with all types of entertainment in mind. Luke Bryan performed to a sold-out crowd as the first performer in the venue. In 2017, the US Bank Stadium became the first football stadium to host the X Games. 2018 brought Super Bowl LLII to our doorstep, where the Eagles beat the Patriots 41-33. In 2019, the stadium hosted the Final Four and has held several soccer tournaments, including the International Champions Cup and several MLS matches.

Beyond sports, US Bank Stadium has hosted legendary musical performances, with renowned artists like The Rolling Stones, Luke Bryan, Beyoncé, U2, Garth Brooks, and Taylor Swift all gracing its stage. The venue's outstanding acoustics and impressive facilities have made it a sought-after location for musical events, and 601 11th Av has had a front-row seat for all of them!

58 years have passed since we moved into 601 11th Av. Change has been all around us, but we're excited for the next chapter to unfold. As we reflect on the sports and entertainment history that unfolded on our doorstep, it's hard not to be grateful to the location we've called home for so many years, and while it may seem a bit odd (to thank a building), from everyone at Baldwin Supply we'd like to say:
